Relationships today are evolving beyond traditional definitions, bringing with them newer emotional experiences, conflicts, expectations, and questions around intimacy, identity, communication, and connection. Yet many psychology students and practitioners often receive limited exposure to understanding these dynamics within therapeutic spaces.
This workshop is designed as an introduction to working with modern relationship concerns through a reflective, affirmative, and non-pathologizing lens. Moving beyond conventional ideas of couples therapy, the module explores the emotional and relational realities individuals navigate in contemporary relationships today.
Some of the topics from our module
Participants will engage with discussions around:
● Dating apps & situationship dynamics
● Conflict patterns among couples
● Infidelity, trust rupture & repair
● Intimacy, body image & kinks
● Understanding diverse relationship structures
● Ethical non-monogamy within therapeutic spaces
Designed for psychology students, early-career therapists, and mental health practitioners, the workshop aims to build greater sensitivity, awareness, and confidence while working with relationship concerns in therapy, especially within evolving social and cultural contexts.
