Workshop on Clinical Disorders (30 Hours)

 

☑ This internship will help you understand the basics of clinical psychology through a combination of roleplays, case studies, and experiential insights in our classes.

☑ The primary objective is to equip students with the requisite skills for a career in therapy, emphasizing practical abilities necessary for therapists.

☑ The program will provide an introduction to the journey of becoming a practicing psychotherapist, covering a range of mental health concerns and disorders.

☑ The internship will be taken by trained mental health professionals


Join us for an intensive weekend internship course designed to deepen your understanding and skills in addressing clinical disorders. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and interactive workshops, participants will explore various aspects of clinical psychology, including ethics and sensitivity, intersectionality, case history and Mental State Examination (MSE), and trauma-informed care.

Some of the topics that would be covered in the internships are as follows:

 

  • Sexual Dysfunction:


    This session will delve into the assessment and treatment of sexual dysfunction, including common disorders such as erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and sexual aversion disorder, with a focus on evidence-based interventions.

  • Anxiety Disorders:


    Interns will explore the various forms of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, etc., examining assessment tools and therapeutic techniques for managing symptoms.

  • Schizophrenia:


    Participants will gain an understanding of the symptoms, etiology, and treatment options for schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders, including medication management and psychosocial interventions.

  • Dissociative Disorders:


    This session will cover the diagnosis and treatment of dissociative disorders, including dissociative identity disorder (DID), depersonalization disorder, and dissociative amnesia, exploring strategies for stabilization and integration.

  • Eating Disorders:

    Interns will learn about the assessment and treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder, including nutritional interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and family-based approaches.
