Workshop Series: Learning Through Role Plays (24 hours)
The best sort of learning happens when we learn through application. Practical exposure in a safe environment without the concern of severe repercussions helps us to gain confidence, try and test methods, and gain control over our skills. This online series focuses on roleplays. Each week we will take a different sort of population and receive simultaneous feedback. The week will involve one theory class, two role-play sessions, and a feedback session.
- First session + Skills and techniques – Having a foundational understanding of the micro-skills involved in therapy is necessary for every practitioner. These skills and techniques will help budding psychologists structure and plan their sessions.
- Anxiety Disorders – Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by excessive and persistent feelings of worry, fear, or apprehension. Anxiety disorders can interfere with a person’s daily life, making it difficult for them to perform everyday tasks, maintain relationships, or pursue their goals and interests. Major anxiety disorders we will cover are Panic disorder, Agoraphobia, Specific phobia, Generalized anxiety disorder, and Mixed anxiety and depressive disorder.
- Queer Affirmative Therapy – A lens that affirms the queer community and advocates for them. A pinnacle for Karma Centre’s beliefs and missions. There will be an elaborate discussion on gender and sexuality and how we can be queer-affirmative in our practice.
