what's happening this month
Join us for our specially curated programs catering to both individuals within the field of psychology and outside. Spend time with our psychologists to look at topics from their unique point of views and experiences
All instructors shared experiences with clients that was extremely beneficial to our understanding. They were very receptive to questions. In one of my previous internships there were a lot of breaches in ethics and confidentiality, and ethics were very well addressed by everyone. I love that Manavi always used gender neutral pronouns and never made assumptions about sexuality. (Eg- "let's assume it's a heterosexual couple" rather than presuming without stating that, which a lot of people do).
It was a great experience! Thank you!
I love that the sessions were so interactive, they kept me focused throughout. Asking and answering as well as going through each topic in such detail was something I really loved! I also really liked the choice of topics for each session and hearing the views of others on these topics has been great!
I enjoyed the whole course to be honest. It was a perfect introduction to psychology and as someone who hasn't studied it before, it made me really interested in learning
more about the subject. It managed to satisfy and further my curiosity simultaneously and I loved all the discussions that we had.
Two things that stood out the most to me were how interactive it was and how your views and opinions were always taken into consideration.
It felt more like a discussion than a lesson and the teachers were all really friendly which made me feel more comfortable and helped me learn and interact with them better.
The discussions. The interactive sessions were really helpful in understanding the topics. There may have been certain times/instances
where the counsellors must’ve been tired but they never expressed and remained pretty active throughout. I think that was extremely commendable.
Second thing which I liked was how each and everyone of the counsellors was so open and supportive to every intern’s doubts/opinions/insights/feelings.
There was an unbiased approach to teaching which I admired.
The fact that people with no background in Psychology were equally given an opportunity to learn something in Psychology out of sheer
interest is something I highly appreciated. At no point did I feel I was not from a Psychology background, all the sessions, the ppts,
the course plan, everything met my expectation and it was nothing but a truly enriching, insightful and a wonderful learning experience!
I thoroughly enjoyed the internship and gained a valuable experience interning at Karma. The space was positive, affirming and validating.
ALL the counsellors and psychologists that I got to interact with and learn from are extremely knowledgeable, resourceful, positive and inspiring.
There was always a judgement-free space throughout the program, to ask even the tiniest of questions, which is something I am really thankful for.
I enjoyed role plays and case studies the most.
Apart from the more common therapy techniques such as CBT, psychodynamic approach, etc, we had sessions on queer affirmative therapy, narrative therapy,
HIV awareness and a lot more which were very informative and helpful. Such topics are not always covered during the courses at our colleges or even other
internship programs which made this specific internship even more interesting and rewarding!
1. The facilitators' enthusiasm and their ability to get the participants to involve themselves in discussions.
2. The diverse perspectives that came not only from the facilitator but also from fellow participants.
3. How the discussions were not diplomatic and their relevance to current political events.
4. A discussion-centric, safe space for discussion of experiences and opinions.
Many things:
1. The many engaging activities (role plays, case discussions, etc.)
2. The space created in each session that made us comfortable to not just share our thoughts, feelings, experiences but also how the safe space in each session brought about sort of revelations or realizations or learnings about ourselves that we either didn’t remember or know. That was cool.
