Some of the topics from our module
Queer & Trans Affirmative Approach
This framework examines how various identities (e.g., gender, race, sexuality) intersect to shape experiences. It challenges binary views and highlights systemic inequalities. A critical lens is applied to understand marginalization in therapeutic contexts.
Caste & Identity Affirming Approach
This module focuses on understanding how caste and other social identities shape lived experiences and mental health. It emphasizes developing an affirming, non-pathologizing approach that acknowledges systemic inequalities and power dynamics. Participants learn to hold client narratives with sensitivity while validating identity-based experiences without attempting to erase or neutralize them.
Understanding Different Therapeutic Modalities
This module introduces students to a range of therapeutic approaches and their underlying frameworks. It helps in understanding how different modalities conceptualize client concerns and guide intervention. Students learn how therapists choose and apply a particular therapeutic modality and learn to engage with these approaches flexibly and contextually, rather than applying them rigidly.
Clinical Disorders and Psychometric Assessments
Students will gain a foundational understanding of common clinical disorders and how to approach assessment in a structured and ethical way. The module introduces key psychometric tools and the role of assessment in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Kink- Affirmative Approach
This module will help students understand that consensual kink and BDSM practices as valid forms of sexual expression rather than pathology. It focuses on understanding consent, boundaries, negotiation, and communication within kink dynamics. It also helps students understand how to navigate concerns around pleasure & kink without stigma and with sensitivity and respect.
Suicidality & Self-Harm
Suicidality and self-harm are often expressions of intense emotional pain and distress. While non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) may function as a coping mechanism, suicidal thoughts indicate a deeper crisis requiring careful assessment and support. Students learn how to do risk assessment, safety planning, and deliver compassionate, non-judgmental care.
