This program is designed as a therapy simulation space for psychology students and early-career practitioners who want to move beyond theory and actively engage with the realities of therapeutic work. It creates an environment where participants can experience, practice, and reflect on counselling processes through structured, guided learning.
Built around case studies, roleplays, and supervision-style feedback, the program allows participants to step into the role of a therapist while working with subclinical and social case material. The focus is on developing socio-counselling skills, understanding client contexts, and learning how to respond thoughtfully within real-life-like scenarios.Â
The program is intentionally to learn by doing, where participants engage in simulated therapy settings, receive feedback, and refine their approach. Overall, it aims to build confidence, clinical sensitivity, and the skills to navigate counselling spaces with greater clarity and responsiveness.
Program Structure
- Participants engage in structured roleplays simulating real therapy sessions, practicing therapeutic conversations, rapport-building, and real-time responses to client concerns.
- Learning is anchored in detailed case studies that help understand client narratives, presenting concerns, and contextual factors, while developing clinical thinking.
- The program includes supervision-style spaces with guided feedback to build reflective practice, awareness of biases, and areas of growth.
- Focus is placed on working with subclinical and social concerns, helping participants respond to everyday distress, relational challenges, and socio-cultural contexts.
- Participants develop socio-counselling skills by integrating family dynamics, cultural realities, and environmental factors into their therapeutic understanding.
Why This Program
There is often a gap between theoretical knowledge and the ability to sit with clients in real therapeutic spaces. This program is designed to bridge that gap by creating a safe, practice-oriented environment where participants can experiment, make mistakes, and learn through experience at their own pace. By combining simulation, supervision, and contextual learning, it supports the development of confidence, clinical sensitivity, and readiness for real-world counselling work.
