Topics Covered

1. Case History Taking and Mental State Examination (MSE): The session would cover the art of gathering client information and conducting a comprehensive MSE. Hands-on practice and feedback sessions for attendees
2. Kink Affirmative Therapy (KAT): A space where participants would learn to provide non-judgmental, empathetic support to individuals exploring kinks. Discover how kinks intersect with identity, self-discovery, and mental well-being, fostering a holistic approach to mental health care. Through case studies, discussions, and ethical considerations, participants will gain valuable insights into creating a safe environment for clients to explore their kinks and enhance their emotional growth.
3. Trauma-Informed lens: This session will focus on the importance of being trauma-informed in counselling practice. Students will gain an understanding of how challenging and traumatic circumstances can impact individuals and their mental health. The session will include a case study and discussion to illustrate the practical applications of a trauma-informed approach.
4. Rehabilitation Psychology: Rehabilitation psychology focuses on helping individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions achieve optimal functioning and well-being. It integrates psychological principles to support recovery, enhance quality of life, and promote adaptation to physical, emotional, and social challenges. This session focuses on the field and how it iinvolves collaboration across healthcare teams to empower individuals in their journey toward independence and improved mental health.
