Topics Covered

  1. Anxiety Disorders: Anxiety disorders are a category of mental health conditions characterized by excessive and persistent worry, fear, or nervousness that interfere with daily functioning. These disorders involve heightened arousal and constant feelings of unease or dread that are often disproportionate to the actual situation. This session will focus on the various types of anxiety disorders and explore interventions through different therapeutic approaches to help manage and reduce anxiety symptoms.
  2. Neurocognitive Disorders:This therapeutic approach recognizes that individuals with neurocognitive disorders experience changes in cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and problem-solving, often impacting their daily lives. It aims to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore and address the challenges related to their cognitive impairments, while developing strategies to enhance their quality of life and well-being.
  3. Eating Disorders: Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions characterized by disturbances in eating behaviors, attitudes toward food, and body image. These disorders often involve extreme emotions, thoughts, and behaviors related to food, weight, and shape, leading to significant distress and impairment in various areas of life. This class would delve into the types of eating disorders and how one can navigate them in sessions through various therapeutic modalities.
  4. Schizophrenia: Schizophrenia is a complex mental health condition characterized by disruptions in thought processes, perceptions, emotions, and behaviors. This class will provide participants with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals living with schizophrenia. The therapeutic approach aims to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore and manage symptoms, while promoting self-awareness, coping strategies, and improved quality of life through tailored interventions and compassionate care.
