The objective of this monthly workshop program is to build practical psychotherapeutic skills by connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. We aim to equip participants with an understanding of diverse treatment modalities and case analysis techniques from different therapeutic lenses. Through interactive case discussions, roleplays, activities, and demonstrations, attendees will grasp the critical abilities, tools, and methods linked to various counselling approaches.
Topics Covered
- Parent Child InteractionTherapy (PCIT): Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based therapeutic approach designed to enhance the relationship between parents and children while addressing behavioral concerns. During this internship, participants will explore the core components of PCIT, including strategies to improve positive parent-child interactions, effective discipline techniques, and fostering emotional regulation in children. The focus will be on understanding the theoretical framework, practical application, and how PCIT promotes long-term behavioral and relational improvements
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Our CBT workshop focuses on addressing problematic thought patterns and behaviours that often exacerbate client challenges around anxiety, depression, anger issues, etc. through practical, tailored interventions. Learn how to implement CBT for improved client functioning.
- Affirmative Counselling for Queer Clients: Provide a space uniquely theirs for queer clients through affirmative counselling approaches that fully embrace diverse identities/expressions and orientations. Our interactive seminar teaches essential knowledge, tools, and mindsets practitioners require along with psychoeducation about gender and sexuality.
- Play therapy: Participants will delve into the principles and practical applications of play therapy, learning how to create a safe and nurturing environment for clients to express themselves. Through interactive sessions and case studies, participants will gain valuable insights into using creative interventions to address emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges in clients.
