Internship & Training in Counselling & Clinical Psychology (Batch 1) – May 2025

This intensive, certificate-training-based internship is designed to equip psychology students with essential skills in Clinical and Counselling Psychology. The program offers a structured introduction to therapeutic processes, core clinical disorders, and ethical frameworks to prepare students to become effective, compassionate, and ethical mental health practitioners.
Through case discussions, role plays, NGO visits, and other experiential learning tools, participants will build real-world competencies grounded in theory and practice.

Our Training in Training in Counselling & Clinical Psychology internship is designed to equip aspiring mental health professionals with a strong foundation in diverse therapeutic approaches. This comprehensive program blends theoretical insights with hands-on experience, allowing interns to develop essential counselling skills, understand psychological assessments, and explore specialized fields of therapy. Through interactive learning, case discussions, and practical application, participants gain a deeper understanding of contemporary counselling techniques and their real-world implications.

    • Ethics & Moral Dilemma – This module explores ethical frameworks and real-life moral dilemmas faced in therapeutic settings. Interns learn to navigate confidentiality, boundaries, and dual relationships. Emphasis is placed on culturally sensitive, trauma-informed decision-making.
    • Introduction to Counselling + Skills – An overview of core counselling theories, models, and approaches. The focus is on building active listening, empathy, and rapport-building skills. Roleplays and demonstrations help interns internalize foundational techniques.
    • Introduction to Testing and Diagnosis – Interns are introduced to commonly used psychological assessments and diagnostic tools. The module covers principles of psychometrics, clinical interviews, and interpretation basics. Emphasis is placed on ethical administration and culturally informed diagnosis.
    • Grief – Grief is a natural, multifaceted response to loss, influenced by culture, attachment, and context. Therapeutic support includes validating emotions and facilitating healthy coping. Understanding different grief trajectories is essential in client care.
    • Intersectionality + Gender, Sex, Sexuality – This module deepens understanding of identity through an intersectional lens. Interns explore how gender, sexuality, caste, class, and systemic oppression impact mental health. Emphasis is on affirming, inclusive, and non-pathologizing approaches to care.
