Through case discussions and in-house expert-led sessions, Students will strengthen their ability to engage with complex client concerns. The training emphasizes moving beyond theory into nuanced, context-sensitive, and client-centred practice.
This program focuses on developing and integrating a therapist’s clinical lens with a counselling lens, self-awareness, and decision-making abilities. It integrates advanced perspectives on working with diverse populations, understanding client narratives, and navigating ethical complexities. Overall, it supports Students in building a grounded, flexible, and evidence-informed therapeutic practice.
Some topics from the module
Developing Skills for Counselling
This module focuses on building core counselling skills such as active listening, empathy, rapport-building, and reflective responses. Students will learn how to hold therapeutic conversations with sensitivity and structure. The module aims to strengthen confidence in real client interactions.
Intersectional Lens & Its Necessity
This module explores how identities like caste, class, gender, sexuality, and culture shape mental health experiences. It focuses on developing an intersectional and affirmative approach to understand client realities. This module helps students learn to hold client narratives with a non-pathologizing lens, while acknowledging their complexity and contextual realities.
Therapeutic Approaches & Choosing Your Own
Students are introduced to different therapeutic modalities and their underlying frameworks. The module helps in identifying what aligns with one’s values, strengths, and client needs. It encourages developing a flexible and integrative personal therapeutic approach that benefits both clients and the therapist.
Ethical Dilemmas & Boundaries
Therapeutic work often involves navigating complex ethical situations and value conflicts. This module focuses on applying ethical principles while balancing client welfare, confidentiality, and professional boundaries. The module intends to better equip students with identifying genuine queries, how to discuss finances with the client, and maintaining boundaries as a therapist.
